Tee hee...

So last night, when Ryan went to leave, his truck wouldn't start. Tee hee. So we were out there with our old jalopy trying to jump start the truck. We tried everything, and it just wouldn't start! Finally, after a while of trying, I ended up driving him back to his container city. Everything that the UN builds ends up being in prefabricated containers behind razor wire. So it's a whole little settlement just outside of the city, completely lit up. Very strange, really. I'm glad I don't have to live there - even if it would be 24 hour a day A/C, warm water for a shower, and access to ice cream!

We made it back to our own compound safe and sound and everyone on the compound woke up a bit puzzled to the sight of a UN truck parked in the lot this morning. About mid-morning, Ryan came by with a couple of mechanics from the UN. They couldn't get the truck jump started either, so they ended up just replacing the battery.

It was a sight never before seen on our compound. And of course, our Dinka had to go out and watch what was going on... at least they didn't offer TOO much advice to the mechanics...
