A lack of deep thoughts

Yeah, so I didn't have a chance to have too many deep thoughts today about Pentacost. Oops. Maybe tomorrow...

But as I was standing in the shower and scrubbing the grime from the insides of my elbows (somehow, those creases get dirty while I'm just sitting at my computer!), I noticed that my flannel (er, that would be a "washcloth" or a "face cloth" for us North Americans) had two gaping holes in it! My lovely bright orange "never leave home without" face doukie is almost bound for the rag pile. It has served me well, that little flannel, but I don't think it's going to make it through too many more washings :(

Here is a photo of me and my face doukie. And no, I didn't purposely put the holes there so I could go and rob a bank.
The only consolation I have tonight is the fact that face cloths are quite common in the market here. Most people keep them in their back pockets or purses and whip them out whenever they have to wipe the sweat from their brow... which is quite often, actually. Seems I fit right in with these sweaty Africans :) However, I keep my fuzzy face cloth for washing with, and I have a collection of delicate flowered hankies to use to wipe the beads of sweat from my brow wherever I go. I went to the shop to buy two, and the guy threw one in for free - so I have a blue one, a pink one, and a yellow one. And yes, I have been known to colour co-ordinating my sweat rag with my outfit.

There truly is a whole industry centered around small sweat mopping cloths in this country.

HA! Well it's all supply and demand right? and i suppose there's great demand for sweat cloths there!
