Today, I'm feeling so thankful for a lot of things, even as I'm sitting here sweating and smelling some, um, rather unpleasant smells! But I'm thankful that:
- I get to live in this place and be a part of something new that's happening here
- I can sit by the Nile and drink a cold coke with ice
- We have one of three doctors in the whole city living in our compound
- I'm healthy and don't have malaria (got quite a nice lesson about malaria from the aformentioned doctor this morning)
- I have wonderful friends and people to live with who seem to rather like me for just being me
- I have a nice fan to keep me cool-ish (at least when the generator is on!)
- I have a kitty who is learning to sit still on my lap
- We have a chocolate birthday cake in the oven which I'll get to eat tomorrow
- I have a computer that works
- I can use the internet to keep in touch with the rest of the world (at least when the generator is on!)
- I serve a risen Saviour who loves me and who is alive and active in me and in this world.
