The Finish Line in Sight

I did my last bit of teaching today at the course!  And it was a pretty darn good class, if I do say so myself.  I'm so impressed and pleased with the way the learners have been taking in the new stuff, and mixing it with the old stuff.  But they have a final exam and a project that they have to hand in tomorrow.  So those two things will really show how they do.  With some of the questions that have been coming in from them about this project, though, I'm really not sure what's going to happen.  Because people's education has been quite interrupted, and also quite "rote", there are things that as an instructor coming from the "West", you wouldn't normally think about!  For example, these guys are having a hard time looking at their assignment sheet and following through the list of things that have to be done.  It's certainly not because they're stupid - far from it!  But they just have been educated in such a different way, so trying to bridge that gap is quite a challenge sometimes.

But it's been fun, really a good community and a wonderful group of people to be a part of for this many weeks.  I'm actually feeling a bit sad that it's all coming to an end next week!
