Java House

I've parked myself in Java House for the morning. My friend (with a car!) had to come and meet someone here, so I also brought along my computer and am sitting in the cafe, enjoying a bagel with cream cheese, a latte, and I think I might top it all off with a milkshake for dessert :) I have to enjoy the wonders of Nairobi while I still can. Although, with the way the visa situation is looking, I might end up spending more time in Nairobi than I want to in the coming months!

I really am praising God that I happened to tag along with my friend before I went to the coast and got my travel pass when I did. I had been planning on getting it all done this week, but just at the last minute decided to go with Jackie when she was here two weeks ago. We got our passes 2 days before the office here quit issuing them. Now, all the visas have to go through the embassy here in town... at an exorbitant price, that is, if they even decide to give it to you. This country is not known for its generosity in granting visas. So please pray with me that this whole thing will not cause the work to grind to a halt in that country. Everyone who works for NGOs in that country have been using the travel permits, and not the visas, to get into the country. So this new ruling is really going to change a lot.

Anyways, I didn't mean to blog about THAT again... I really want to do some blogging about my trip to the coast! So I'll start a new entry below.
