I need a hobby

It just dawned on me that I can't possibly spend every evening blogging and surfing the Internet. I need a hobby. A hobby that can be done with basically no supplies (since I can't buy much here), doesn't require too much movement (since I sweat a lot in the heat) and can be done on my own (since Jackie's a bit of an introvert and our neighbors are moving). Any suggestions?!

Um... they're small, pokey, cute, in abundance and something that can be hunted alone or by yourself. All that is required is a headlamp (check)and nail polish (check). They require a bit of movement but not much and it is at night so you don't have to sweat much. It's just like Easter Egg hunting only more satisfying :). And, they won't leave scratches all over your leg and foot! Hunting hedgepigs is a pretty safe hobby.

Hmmm...you could "scrapbook" your Africa photos on your computer, or make them into gifts like calenders, etc. to be printed when you get to Canada. You could write a book or a children's book and illustrate it with your drawings or photos... you could learn to sew or embroider, make pillowcases or funky bags out of cool material you find in Africa (can you find material and thread in Juba?)... you could make garbage into gifts, like take interesting wrappers with words that you can't find in Canada and make a unique notecard out of it... you could sketch things that you see... hmmm... hunting hedgepigs is a fun possibility too :-)
