Predictable?

So, if the pattern holds true for more than a couple of days... the city power should be going off right about... now!  Or... now!   Or... well, maybe their clock is a bit behind mine... Or, maybe we've switched to a new pattern for the weekend!

Well, anyway, all that to say, our power seems to be slipping in (and out?!) of a pattern of going off at 11pm and coming back on around 9am, and then going off again around 2, and coming back around 6pm.  But, well, maybe they're just messing with me, now that I think I've got the pattern figured out!  I'm trying to make a game out of it called, "Guess the City Power Hour!".  I think it would make a great game show, to air immediately following the reality sit-com, which revolves around the "characters" living on our compound.  If I keep thinking that perhaps I'm actually living in a crazy reality tv show (and haven't yet been voted off the island!), then it will help me in this last week here to keep laughing about it all!

Yes, that's right, I did say MY LAST WEEK HERE!  By next Saturday afternoon, I shall be on a jet plane headed to Uganda.  And from there, on a jet plane headed to London. And then, after stopping for an eggnog latte in Terminal 5, near the gate from which the flight leaves to Canada, I shall be on a jet plane headed home!  I rarely get homesick, actually, but I have to admit that once I have plane tickets booked and I start looking forward to all the wonderful things at home, it does get a bit harder to be here :( But at least the decision... oh!  there goes the power!  11:07pm.  They're 7 minutes late tonight, but I guess it's close enough to still fit within my pattern, isn't it?... anyway, the decision to go home came a bit last minute (thanks, Dad!), so I haven't all THAT much time to think about going home and get antsy to get there.

And now, since the power is out, my computer screen is attracting all the little flying creatures, so I'm outta here!  I hope tomorrow to post some photos of the loveliness that came out of my desk while having its "dry season" annual clean yesterday.
