Connections

The world is a small place! I just got a note on my facebook wall that one of my friends from Uganda actually stayed with my aunt and uncle in Canada last night! And I had nothing to do with it! How crazy is that?

I've also been thinking a lot about friends this week that I've not kept in touch with much over the past several months. Sorry, friends. It's just been really tough to keep up with so many people. But there are so few people who I feel like I can just "let go". But at the same time, it's impossible for me to sit and write each person a real email every week, or even every month. And I feel bad about that, because I'm so interested in how you're all doing and what's new and what you're learning and what you're feeling and what you're enthusiastic about today and even, yes, what you had for breakfast today.

I know this blog and my facebook are a poor substitute for personal communication. And I feel sorry about that. I'm hoping that someday soon, I'll be able to find a better way to communicate with more of you more personally.

But for now, please accept this blog in lieu of an email. I do love you guys, and I miss you, and I wish I could keep up with you better!

And at the same time, the world is a small place, and eventually, down the line, we'll all meet up again somewhere and have a jolly reunion... and hopefully you won't hold it against me that I only sent you one personal email each year :D
